RUBBER ducks will be zooming down the river Avon in Pershore on Sunday as the town carnival duck race takes place.

The event will get underway at 10.30am on Sunday (April 5) in King George Playing Fields, King Georges Way, Pershore, behind the football club.

So far more than 500 people have bought a duck and there is still plenty of chance on the day.

The racing will begin at noon giving people opportunity to get down to the event and take part.

There will also be a whole host of other things going on, from a tombola to Easter eggs and treasures hunts and refreshments on offer.

The event will be raising money for the 2015 Carnival event which is being held in the town on Bank Holiday Monday, May 25.

It promises to be a fun day out for all the family with floats taking to the streets, following this year's theme, sport past and present.
