HISTORY enthusiasts can get a look into the archives of a former infirmary in the centre of Worcester at a special workshop next month.

Records from the archives of Worcester Royal Infirmary will be available at the session run by Worcestershire County Council’s archive and archaeology team at The Hive on Tuesday, May 19.

The workshop will be led by archive assistant Sarah Ganderton, who studied the infirmary for her dissertation while studying at the University of Worcester.

"This will be a great opportunity to find out more about the Infirmary and what the archives can tell us,” she said. “I am really excited to share my research and help other people do their own research from the archives.”

Worcester Royal Infirmary opened in 1745 at the corner of Silver Street and Lowesmoor, in a currently-vacant building previously occupied by Majestic Wine.

To book a place at the workshop, which will run from 2pm until 4pm, visit www.thehiveworcester.org or for more information call 01905 766352.
