POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attack in which a 54-year-old man was assaulted from behind and knocked to the ground while walking home in Worcester.
The victim was walking with his wife in Sansome Walk near the junction with Sansome Place at about 8.30pm on Saturday, April 4 when he was struck from behind, causing him to fall to the ground and briefly lose consciousness.
The attacker ran off in the direction of Stanton Street. Neither the victim nor his wife were able to get a good look at him and were only able to tell police he had blonde hair.
The victim suffered minor injuries to his face and eye and had to be taken to hospital.
