WORCESTER'S worst drivers will be shamed on a new Facebook page set up by a motorist who is fed up of bad driving.

The group called "Worcester Bad Drivers" was set up by Adrian Clark in the hope it might help educate drivers and improve safety on city roads.

The popular page has already received more than 1,600 likes since it was set up on Wednesday, May 6 and has received contributions of photographs, videos and comments capturing terrible parking, poor lane discipline in the city's busy one way system and drivers cutting each other up on roundabouts.

The 34-year-old customer service adviser at Shrub Hill railway station, who has been driving since he was 17, said he set up the page to highlight some of Worcester's more difficult roads and junctions, starting with Dolday.

Having experienced so much poor driving in Worcester he looked for a Facebook page on the subject and, when he could not find one, decided to set up the page himself.

Mr Clark, who jokes he is 'no Jeremy Clarkson' when it comes to his presentation skills, said on his opening post on the site: "Welcome to this new page set up to highlight bad drivers in Worcester.

"I set this up as I'm tired of people who constantly fail to read road markings and thus get in the wrong lane, which causes all sorts of grief every day."

He invites people to like the page and share and contribute to it with stories, photographs and dash cam footage.

There are even videos offering tips on 'how to do the Dolday junction' where he says people often come unstuck, approaching in the wrong lane then cutting across.

He said of the Dolday junction: "This is the main gripe I have driving in Worcester: People who don't read road markings and get this junction wrong at Dolday by the Cattle Market. I've even had a Police panda car cut me up here."

In one video a bus driver is seen having trouble negotiating the space between double parked cars.

The man filming is heard to say: "Seriously mate, you can fit a bus through there - an entire bus."

In one photograph a driver has parked at what appears to be a 45 degree angle in order to fit into a space on The Tything and another shows a driver parked at an angle across a disabled bay.

A spokesman from Worcestershire County Council said: "We appreciate the concerns raised, and welcome the comments and feedback, however the Dolday is a busy part of our road network used by thousands each day and we are not aware of any safety issues to date that support the view that it is dangerous.

"The county council will consider improvements where appropriate but road markings and signs have their own limitations and have to comply to strict regulations."
