A VOLUNTEER who has given 20 years of her time to two Worcester charity shops officially reopened the British Red Cross shop in St John's today.
Elizabeth Lambert received an award for her two decades of service at the newly refurbished shop this morning.
The shop had been closed for a week for refurbishment and updating, but reopened on Thursday morning with help from Ms Lambert, who lives in St John's.
Retail field manager, Roger Leese, presented Ms Lambert with a certificate, a bottle of champagne and a letter from the Queen.
He said: "Without our volunteers we couldn't run our shops. We want to thank Elizabeth for her 20 years of commitment to us."
Over the past 20 years Ms Lambert has volunteered in the British Red Cross in the Tything and in the St John's store.
"I just really enjoy it, it's satisfying to give something back," she said.
"I first started volunteering because it was something I wanted to do, it has a lot to do with the way I was brought up."
