A TRADITIONAL barn dance is to be held next month in aid of St Richard’s Hospice.

The event will be held in the barn at Old Pound Farm in Peopleton near Pershore.

People are invited to join the evening of light-hearted fun and enjoy dancing to toe tapping music from The Whole Caboodle.

Real ales from Wye Valley Brewery and ciders from Clives Fruit Farm will be available from the event bar.

Rachel Jones, fundraising manager at St Richard’s Hospice, said: "We are so excited about this event.

"You don’t get a chance very often to take part in a barn dance on a real farm.

"We are so grateful to Sue and Paul Dunne for clearing out their barns to allow us to put on this really fun event.

"We would also like to thank Paula Hill, from E Hill and Son, who first suggested a fundraising barn dance."

She added: "We are definitely not looking for expert dancers but just people who know how to enjoy themselves and for the non-dancers come along and enjoy the pig roast and real ales and ciders.

"For those who want to get into the spirit we will be awarding prizes for the best dressed, so it’s a chance to dig out your check shirts, hats and boots."

The barn dance is sponsored by Jelf Clarke Roxburgh and supported by the St Richard’s Hospice Business Patrons.

Tickets cost £20 each, to include the meal and a drinks token, and are available by calling 01905 763 963.
