THE new MP for Mid Worcestershire visited an Evesham primary school.

Children at St. Mary’s Catholic Primary, who have been gripped by electioneering in the last half term and have been learning about democracy, welcomed Nigel Huddleston.

Youngsters in reception and Key Stage One voted in an assembly to decide on the best option out of 10 minutes of extra play, additional time on the scooter track or a biscuit – with the biscuit storming to victory.

Year 3 are currently studying the history of the Battle of Evesham and Year 6 created their own political parties then presented their manifestos to their classmates ready for a final vote.

Mr Huddleston talked to every class about the work they had been doing and took part in a Question Time-style event.
