FOOTBALL fans heading to the FA Cup Final have been reminded alcohol has been banned on London Midland trains.

Aston Villa face off against Arsenal in this year's showpiece on Saturday at Wembley.

London Midland’s head of West Coast services, Terry Oliver, said: "To make everyone's journey more pleasant, alcohol will be banned on London Midland trains to and from Saturday’s game between Arsenal and Aston Villa."

The provider has added extra stops at Wembley Central on a number of its services departing from Birmingham.

Fans are advised that these trains will be busy, so the alternative option is to change trains at Harrow and Wealdstone station and catch London Overground rail services to Wembley Central.

Mr Oliver added: "Our advice to fans is plan ahead and allow plenty of time for your journey in case you need to wait for the next service.

"After the game, London Midland's 19.40 and 19.56 services will call at Wembley Central for onward travel to Birmingham.

"These trains are expected to be busy.

"Our advice is to take the London Overground service from Wembley Central to Harrow and Wealdstone, where fans can connect with London Midland trains to Birmingham New Street."
