A STUNNING collection of rhododendrons are in bloom at an historic ruin near Worcester.

Witley Court’s rhododendrons are in full bloom at the forty six acre gardens in Great Witley.

Witley Court’s head gardener Jasmine Groves said: "The warm and wet weather over the spring has been the perfect combination to make our rhododendrons truly bloom this year. The plants around the court have gradually been coming into flower over the past few weeks, adding a flash of colour all over the grounds. The blooms in the woodland walk are looking at their absolute best right now. We’re lucky to have some really rare varieties of rhododendrons here at Witley, and now is the time to see the final flourish of this year’s display.”

According to the court's owners, English Heritage, it is thought that the rhododendrons at the court are so rare that these particular varieties may not exist anywhere else.

Witley Court is open from 10am to 6pm everyday throughout the summer and entrance to the woodland walk is included in admission to the court.
