TWO small Worcestershire villages are working together to create a flower festival with a difference this August bank holiday.
The villages of Pirton and Wadborough to the south of Worcester are putting on 'A Journey Through Time' on Monday, August 31, which will take visitors from the dinosaurs era to the Second World War.
There will be pterodactyls constructed out of chicken wire, moss and black plastic bags while seeds, dried flower heads and even coffee beans will be used to create two panels of the Bayeaux tapestry.
Life-sized Roman soldiers will guard the exhibits and The Great Fire of London will be interpreted through flowers.
The duo of villages raised more than £9,000 towards restoring Pirton Church tower with a flower festival held two years ago.
