IT is the final countdown until the first ever Woo Fest gets underway in memory of a father who was cared for at St Richard's Hospice.

Music lovers still have a chance to get their hands on tickets for the festival at the Drum and Monkey, near Upton-upon-Severn on Saturday (July 4).

The festival has been organised by the family of John Simons who spent his last few days at the hospice in Wildwood Drive in 2013.

Son Luke Simons, from Northwick, Worcester, said they decided to hold the festival because their dad had been a big fan of live music and it would raise money for a place which had supported his father and family.

The Woo Town Hillbillies, Killerstream, Skewwhiff and Ben Stancombe are among the acts performing and younger festival-goers will be able to enjoy a children's play area with bushcraft activities, arts and crafts and a Frozen photo shoot.

A few of the Woo Fest team members were given a tour of the hospice in Wildwood Drive which Mr Simons said helped really hit home why they were holding the festival.

Tickets cost £15 in advance before July 1 and are £20 on the day with under 14s admitted free with a responsible adult.

Camping is pre book only and costs £7.50 per person and under 14s free with up to two children per adult.
