POLICE are warning parents to be extra vigilant after a number of girls have reported being approached by men in the Bromsgrove area.

On Tuesday, June 23, two men aged between 20 and 25 years old approached a girl as she walked along Upland Road and Penine Road, Bromsgrove.

One of the men got out of a black KA vehicle and asked the girl to go over to them, but she ignored them and carried on walking. It happened around 6pm.

In another incident, on Monday, a 14 year-old girl reported seeing a man touching himself "inappropriately" as he was sat in a car in Meadow Road, Wythall, as she was on her way back from school.

A 44-year-old Birmingham man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He is currently on police bail and will return to Kidderminster Police Station on August 17.

In a third incident, three teenagers reported that they had been approached by a man in Hollywood, today (Tuesday, June 30).

They described the man as being very thin, around 65 years old, with grey hair and a skinny face. They said they had been approached by the same man at a car boot sale several months ago.

In response to the incidents, Sergeant Richard Field, of Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Team, confirmed patrols outside schools are being stepped up.
