A BANKER is taking on a triathlon challenge in aid of an animal charity.

Adam West, 29, a former University of Worcester student who now lives in Tenbury, will participate in the London Triathlon on Saturday, August 8, and raise money for Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter.

He will take on the half-a-mile swim, 12-mile cycle and three-mile run alongside almost 200 of his TSB colleagues and hopes to collect £250 for the good cause.

He said: “I am really looking forward to it but it is quite scary at the same time.

“This will be my first triathlon and I’m very happy to do it for such a worthy charity.

“I keep myself fit playing rugby but I am not quite a fully competent swimmer so that section will be the real obstacle for me.

“I wanted to support a smaller, local charity where the money I raise can make a bigger difference.”

He added that competing alongside his banking colleagues will be “fantastic” and that training meet-ups have brought everyone closer together.
