THE owner of a stolen horse trailer full of precious personal possessions is appealing for help in getting them returned.

The trailer belongs to Jane Wright-Roberts of Wadborough, near Pershore, and was stolen from a field in the village some time between Monday night and Tuesday afternoon.

The horsebox was loaded with personal possessions in readiness for her move to St Agnes in Cornwall, and among the most cherished items are an antique radio that belonged to Mrs Wright-Roberts's father and a piano she had bought for her sic-year-old grand-daughter Gracie.

Mrs Wright Roberts, a riding instructor and retired teacher, fears the thieves may have dumped most or all of her possessions and is urging the public to look out for them.

She said: "The trailer was full of the things I need most when I get to my new property in Cornwall, everything from my kitchen, plus a large America LEG fridge-freezer.

"Then there was all my bedding, duvets, linen, sheets and towels, all my clothes and shoes, and clothes for my grandchildren, plus a brand-new white digital piano I purchased in April for little Gracie, who has had only had two lessons before this unscrupulous theft.

"But the biggest blow is the theft of my father’s 1940s batwing radio. This is the radio that was in our sitting room when I was a little girl. I wouldn't go to bed until I'd heard Walter Gabriel in the Archers at 6.45pm every night. I am really upset that the thieves will just dump all my personal possessions when they open the trailer doors and see what is inside.

“I think they were unaware of the contents when they took it as the back doors were tight shut and nothing was visible from the outside. It’s very heavy even unladen and it would have needed three or four men to push it back far enough to hitch it onto their vehicle. Skid marks on the grass show their vehicle struggled to get it away."

The Rice Beaufort trailer is mounted on Land Rover tyres and has a serial number A29066 and microchip number 7F7D511D5A.

Members of the public are urged to look out for the trailer and any of Mrs Wright-Roberts’s possessions which might have been fly tipped or dumped in the area, and to report any listings on eBay of the radio or piano.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Mrs Wright-Roberts on jwr@pinklizard.org.uk or 07521 404961.
