A WORCESTER park will be awash with colour and fragrance at a popular show next month.

The Worcester Show returns to Gheluvelt Park in Barbourne on Sunday, August 16 from 10am.

Now in its tenth year, the show features floral displays, cooking demonstrations, craft stalls and a selection of food and drink stands selling local produce.

Worcester City Council’s community engagement supervisor, Michelle Newell, said: "Whether you have entered your prized flowers, vegetables, culinary masterpieces, photographs or crafts, want to try out a new sport or simply want to wander through the stalls, listen to live music and soak up the atmosphere, the Worcester Show is the place for the whole family to be.”

New for this year is an expanded Sports Zone, offering activities for all ages throughout the day.

Several local sports clubs, including Worcester City FC, Worcester Table Tennis League and Boughton Park Tennis Club will be providing opportunities for visitors to take part in their sports.

Expert gardening advice will also be on hand and various societies will be around to talk people through the world of bee keeping, art, knitting and other subjects.
