RAIN did not dampen the party spirit as Blobbie Williams, facepainting and a pink elephant named Emily helped mark a charity's fifth birthday.

Two hundred people joined in the fun at Top Barn Farm on Sunday as New Hope marked its anniversary in style.

It may have rained all day long but inside the marquees it was all smiles as bands including The Magoos, Jasper in the Company of Others and Done By Sunrise performed for the crowds.

The party raised over £3,500 for the charity, which is based in Wells Road, Ronkswood, and saw people enjoy a bouncy castle, stalls and facepainting.

Jean Wilson, founder of New Hope, said: "It was a wonderful day with over 200 people having lots of fun.

"The rain didn't stop the fun and instead we enjoyed a lovely day full of happy memories.

"We are very grateful to all who attended and to all the volunteers who helped out."
