THREE new arrivals will be making the most of the summer nights at a Worcestershire safari park.

As West Midland Safari Park prepares to stay open late during the whole of August for their Summer Nights event, three little Dhole pups will be venturing out for the first time at the park.

Born on March 13, the pups are the first litter to be born since the arrival of their adult counterparts in 2012.

Dhole pups communicate by making a variety of sounds, ranging from an eerie whistle and mew to a high-pitched scream.

Director of Wildlife, Bob Lawrence, said: "Life in the Park's Wild Wood for this photogenic threesome is bound to present daily new adventures, which currently involves persistently rolling among the long grass and jumping on the seed heads. Despite the youngster's inquisitive nature, it took the three boys several weeks to venture out into the Wild Wood — now it's a job to get them indoors in the evening."

The Dholes are endangered wild dogs that originate from southern Asia, where they live and hunt in large packs of up to forty.

The new pups will be venturing out daily during the whole of August when West Midland Safari Park opens at 10am.

The park is hosting various trails and activities at the park throughout the summer.

Other residents of the park include meerkats, lemurs, hippos, goats and elephants.
