STAFF from a leisure company have shaved off their hair to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Team members from Freedom Leisure - the organisation that runs four leisure facilities in Worcestershire including Malvern Splash and Tenbury Swimming Pool - took part in the fundraiser.

Ian Bonsall, centre manager at Malvern Splash, got involved in memory of his mother who died from cancer, while Sheila Jones, finance and administration manager, was similarly inspired to support the cause in memory of her father who also lost his battle with cancer.

The two other participants were Mike Willetts, front of house manager, and Rob Tyler, centre manager at Tenbury Swimming Pool.

“It’s great to see our staff raising money for such a worthy cause, particularly as it means a great deal to our team members who have suffered a personal loss from this disease,” said Freedom Leisure area manager David Pugh. “I’m sure many of us know someone who has suffered from cancer and we hope by taking part in this event we have raised attention and funds to help those living with the disease.”
