A FABULOUS weekend of summer jazz is promised for Pershore's 14th annual jazz festival as music from more than 150 renowned musicians will resonate throughout the town.

The three-day festival from August 21 to 23 will include more than 30 sessions across four venues in the surrounds of Pershore Horticultural College campus.

The eclectic programme for which Pershore has become known will include traditional, mainstream, gypsy swing, big band and modern jazz. All day restaurant and bar facilities are central to the venues and the college plant centre will even offer a discount for gardening jazz fans.

Just some of the featured artists are The Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra with Elaine Delmar, Digby Fairweather’s Half Dozen, eight times winner of the British Jazz Awards small band category and now on their twentieth anniversary tour, Enrico Tomasso, Jamie Brownfield, Amy Roberts, Jeff and Anne Barnhart from the USA, Mellow Baku, Brian Corbett, John Hallam, Gypsy Fire and a return visit by The Session, a young band from New Orleans playing modern/contemporary jazz but absorbed in the history and spirit of the Crescent City.

Admission prices are £17 for the Friday evening and £30 each for Saturday and Sunday.
