ANOTHER acclaimed vocalist is to step on to the stage of Worcester's Huntingdon Hall.

Cara Dillon's crystal-clear vocals have been winning her awards since she was 14 years old and on Friday, May 4, Worcester will find out why.

Born in 1975 in County Derry, Northern Ireland, Cara was raised in a close-knit musical family. Whilst she was still a teenager, she sang with Oige and De Dannan and, in 1995, went on to join Equation. After leaving the group she and another ex-member, Sam Lakeman, began working together, the result of which was four years of touring and recording in the US. In 2001 they returned to the UK and Dillon quietly released her debut solo album.

The self-titled effort, that featured a collection of mainly traditional material, drew comparisons to Eva Cassidy. Tickets to the Huntingdon Hall gig are priced £15 and available from 01905 611427.
