HEALTHWATCH Worcestershire has been out and about listening to people’s experiences of local health and social care services.
About 100 members of the public came and talked to us at the Showcase of Services for Older People in Kidderminster and told us about their experiences of local services and issues affecting them.
On August 5, we had a stand at an event at the Guildhall organised by Action for Children for National Play Day.
It was great to chat with children and their families attending the event and hear their thoughts and experiences of local services.
We had a stand at the Worcester Show and enjoyed meeting 400 people, they learned about HWW, talked about the services and raised issues where they thought services could be improved.
Through our engagement and signposting we regularly receive enquiries about mental health services, especially how to access help and support during a crisis.
Following this we have engaged with groups and organisations across the county talking to people about their experiences and we have developed a survey for patients and carers to tell us about their experiences of services and in particular access to help and support in a crisis.
This survey will be launched on September 1 and will be available on our website and hard copies can be requested by contacting our office.
Healthwatch has visited Wolverley Surgery to hear from patients who have been affected by the changes to the GP Dispensing List. Some people who previously have their medicines dispensed by the Surgery have been told by NHS England that they can no longer do so as they live within 1.6 km of a community pharmacy. If you have been affected by these changes please contact us and let us know.
If you want any further information, a paper copy of the Mental Health Survey or would like to share your experiences, contact us at info@healthwatchworcester
