POLICE are reminding people to keep their dogs on leads when walking near livestock.
According to West Mercia Police, large numbers of livestock are either injured or killed in dog attacks and ask people to always keep their dog on a lead when near farm animals.
Under the Animals Act 1971, if a dog is caught in the act of worrying livestock, the owner may be liable for prosecution or a fine, and the dog may be shot by the landowner.
