STOURPORT Swifts recorded a 1-0 victory against Midland League Premier Division rivals Alvechurch in the preliminary round of the FA Cup.
Westfields warmed up for their home derby against Hereford FC tomorrow with a 1-1 draw against Kidsgrove Athletic at Allpay Park.
Pershore Town suffered a 1-0 defeat at Coventry United who are top of the Midland League Division One after seven straight victories.
Despite the loss, it was probably Town’s best performance of the season. They gave a fighting, spirited display even when reduced to 10 men following a harsh second yellow card for Joe Walsh.
Coventry were also reduced to 10 men late in the game but a goal after 70 minutes for the hosts was the difference between the teams.
