A PAIR of TV stars best known for playing Coronation Street’s favourite butchers will visit Worcester this weekend to celebrate the 20th birthday of a city meat seller.

Andy Whyment and Steven Arnold, who play Kirk Sutherland and Ashley Peacock on the long-running ITV soap, will make an appearance at the event arranged and hosted by D&M Meats in the Venture Business Park in Weir Lane, Lower Wick on Sunday, September 6.

Owners of the family-run firm – which recently expanded its opening hours to seven days a week – Michael Jacob and Dave Grubb are throwing the party to thank customers old and new for their business since 1995.

The event, which will run from 10am until 4pm, will also include a bouncy castle and a barbecue as well as some special offers. Party-goers will also be in with a chance of winning a hamper worth £100 by taking a selfie with the Corrie stars and posting it to the company’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DandMMeats.

A spokesman from the firm said: “We are proud to be running this local store in Worcester and bring all the value for money deals that D&M Meats has become so well known for to your doorstep.

“Whether you're a butcher, cafe, restaurant or a member of the general public, you are all welcome to come and take advantage of our fantastic deals on meat and frozen food.”
