HYPNOTHERAPIST and counsellor Daniel Browne, who practises in Evesham, is on a mission to encourage people to pay more attention to looking after their physical and mental wellbeing.

Thirty-year-old Daniel works from the Health Hub and Play Cafe, in Evesham’s High Street, and is sharing self-care tips using social media to thousands of people, while also offering free mindfulness classes and giving away hypnosis MP3 files.

The therapist started his career in mental health care working with patients suffering from severe mental health problems like schizophrenia, to help them rehabilitate and integrate into the community after leaving institutions.

He then progressed to train as a therapist, gaining diplomas in counselling, hypnotherapy and psychotherapy.

Daniel said: “September is the month when everyone returns to work and school after the summer holidays. As life returns to normal, it can often be stressful having to balance work life and family life again.

“It’s also the time of year when people begin to look ahead to the festive season and that in itself can cause stress. I believe that aside from New Year, September is the ideal time to focus on our physical and mental wellbeing in order to feel good over the autumn and winter months. That’s why I’ve declared September as ‘Self-Care September’.

“Aside from giving away hypnotherapy mp3s and running free mindfulness classes for local people during the month, I’m interested in having an open discussion about the importance of taking care of our own wellbeing.

“With one in four people suffering from mental health issues and stress levels on the increase, a month such as Self Care September is important for raising awareness of those issues.”
