PATIENTS in Worcestershire are being invited to the Annual General Meeting of the organisation running the county’s three major hospitals later this month.

Among speakers at the AGM of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust on Wednesday, September 23 will be Dr Phil Sanmuganathan, who will talk about the impact the centralisation of stroke services has had on patients and staff.

A panel of health and social care specialists will also hold a discussion on the challenges faced by the county’s health sector at the meeting at Worcestershire Royal Hospital’s Charles Hastings Education Centre and questions will be taken from the audience.

The trust will also release its annual review of the year brochure at the meeting, detailing the achievements and challenges of the last 23 months.

Trust chairman Harry Turner said: “We’re approaching our AGM in a new way this year and we’d like you to get involved in the conversation about urgent care.

“AGM guests will also get the opportunity to hear about stroke services direct from one of our expert consultants.

“We’ve achieved a lot in the last year, which we will reflect on, and this year’s AGM gives you the opportunity to get more involved in the conversation about our hospitals, patients and staff.”

The meeting will be held from 5pm for a 5.30pm start. All are welcome, but anyone who wishes to attend must book a place beforehand by emailing communications@worcsacute.nhs.uk by Wednesday, September 9.
