A Worcester mum hopes to show everyone how it's done when it comes to entertaining after she stars in one of the nation's favourite cooking shows tonight (Friday).

Angela Leaver represented the city and went up against three other contestants from the county of Worcestershire to try to take home the title on Channel 4's "Come Dine With Me".

She came up with a Maltese influenced menu, being half Maltese herself, and says she is pleased with where she was placed after being encouraged to go on the show by her three children.

Mrs Leaver, who co-owns Ravenmeadow Golf Club with her husband James, said: "It was really enjoyable and I loved every minute of it.

"We got on well as a group, and there were a lot of very funny moments that are worth watching. I have kept in touch with one of the contestants since we stopped filming too.

"My children have always encouraged me to take part in the show, on occasion we watch it as a family, and then when invites for auditions were sent to my work, I thought I'd give it a go.

"I do cook a lot for my family, and I'm really pleased with what position I came in.

"It was hard work though, as there are constantly film crews with you and you have to make the same dish more than once to practice it.

"Filming does go on very late too, so it's harder work than I thought it would be."

The 40 year-old mother of three had to go through an extensive selection process including two telephone interviews, a test screening and finally an interview with the show's director.

Mrs Leaver, of Northwick, was up against representatives of Evesham, Redditch and Kidderminster.

To see how she got on tune in tonight (Friday) on Channel 4 at 5pm.
