LAST night's lunar activity certainly captured the attention of professional and novice photographers across Worcestershire.
Readers have been sharing their images of the rare celestial event which saw a supermoon - where it reaches its closes point to Earth - and also an eclipse.
It is the first such alignment sine 1982 and the last until 2033.
There have been only five supermoon eclipses since 1900.
The moon's surface appeared a deep red colour and was at the centre of the Earth's shadow at around 3.11am.
Here is a selection of your photographs:
Dave Grubb took this picture of the supermoon at Perdiswell
Jan Sedlacek took these pictures from Malvern
Dave Harford
Lizzie Yarnold from Malvern
Marcus Hart took these pictures from Malvern
Richard Purvis
Sam Hamer
Siobhan Gordon
David Ainscough - blood moon from St Wulstan's, Worcester
Christopher Baddiley said: "It was at its closest to the earth in its orbit at the time so larger in angular diameter than typical, a Supermoon. Fairly rare for it to be an eclipse at the same time.
"Even rarer, it was completely clear all through."
Peter Jenner took this picture from the city centre at 3.30am this morning
Johnny Morrissey took this picture of the supermoon eclipse
David Guy took these pictures of the lunar eclipse from Link Top in the early hours of this morning
Allan McKenzie took this picture of the red moon over Worcester
And finally...same moon but taken from a different 'angle'. Former Worcester resident Tim Hill took his picture at 10.45pm Atlantic time outside Halifax, Nova Scotia.
He said "Didn't want to stay out too long as there was a bear mooching around the last couple of days."
