A WOMAN hopes to find the identities of two good Samaritans who came to her aide after she was stranded at a railway station in the early hours of the morning.

Holly Amy Cogswell was aboard a train from Birmingham New Street station when she learned she faced walking home alone at 1am because a broken down train meant the journey was cancelled.

Overhearing her predicament, the pair approached her to say they would pay for a taxi home to guarantee her safety.

Miss Cogswell has put out an appeal through the Droitwich News to find the couple who came to her rescue in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

She hopes to thank the pair who she believes may live in the town as they got off at the stop before her at Droitwich Spa.

In a message to the paper's Facebook page, she wrote: "I wonder if you could help me find two lovely people who live in Droitwich.

"I was on the last train to Worcester from Birmingham New Street which had broken down resulting in over an hour's delay.

"Due to this there was no trains from Worcester Shrub Hill to Foregate Street resulting in me having a 20 minute walk home at nearly 1am.

"The couple overheard me talking on the phone about needing to walk home alone to which they offered to pay for a taxi for me rather than walking home late at night alone.

"I really want to thank them for their kind gesture to a total stranger.

"They got the stop before me at Droitwich Spa.

"Please help me find them."
