CHILDREN from three Worcestershire Schools enjoyed a tour of the Houses of Parliament and a mini tour of London.

Youngsters from St Clement’s Primary CofE in Worcester, Heronswood Primary in Kidderminster and Cutnall Green First School in Droitwich joined together to tour Parliament.

They also took part in a workshop exploring how members of the public have made an impact on Parliament.

Another highlight to their trip was a walking tour taking in Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street.

The children were delighted with their visit and particularly enjoyed viewing the Throne Room and the “Yes and No chamber” which reminded them of voting in their School Council.

They also liked the idea of having their own drawer to send letters to the queen.

Kathryn Brunt, executive principal of Rivers Academy Trust said: “We were delighted to facilitate this collaborative trip and many of the children on the trip had never visited London before.

"All children from the three schools enjoyed getting to know each other and seeing the sites of the capital city. "After the success of the trip, we are hoping to facilitate more of these collaborative outings in the future.

The Rivers Academy CofE Trust is a group of three good and outstanding schools spread across the county.

The schools share a vision of ensuring every child fulfils their maximum potential and leaves ready for secondary school.

The visit took place on Thursday, September 24.
