AN autumn fete enjoyed by students at Stanley Road primary school raised £1,000 for the school.

Staff and parents volunteered to help at the fete which was organised by the school's Friends group, which brings together parents, teachers and friends.

The fete was very well attended and included a raffle with four match day tickets to The Warriors as the top prize, a table collecting items for the refugees via Worcester Refugee Relief, and an ambulance, police van and fire engine for the children to explore.

There was also a penalty shootout, donkey rides on the school field, bric and brac sales, cake stalls, henna hand painting, face painting and a performance by the school choir.

The money raised will go towards ongoing fundraising to build a treehouse as part of a plan to develop the school's Early Years department.
