A LOST three-month-old puppy was reunited with her relieved owners after she was found wandering in a busy Martin Hussingtree street.

The aptly-named Lucky, a Golden Retriever, went missing on Tuesday morning from her home in Pershore Lane.

However she was found wandering in the road by a member of the public later that day, and was left in the care of nurses at Townsend Veterinary Practice, Droitwich.

Natasha Lilley, 16, who is Lucky's owner, said: "I was really upset because I thought we had lost her. We have lost two dogs on Pershore Lane.

"Straight away I posted on my Facebook page asking if anyone sees Lucky please ring me.

"I was really happy [to be reunited with Lucky] because we have got her sister Paris from the same litter and she just wouldn't eat that night Lucky was away because they have been together since birth.

"They are part of the family now and we have only had them for a few weeks. She was just about to get microchipped."

The Worcester Sixth Form student added she would like the person who helped find Lucky to come forward so her family can pass on their heartfelt thanks.

Emma Bates, veterinary nurse at Townsend Vets urged all pet owners to have their animals microchipped to help reunite lost dogs and cats with their families.

She said: "When she first came in she was quite nervous. She just had a collar on with no tag. It was a bit difficult to identify where she came from. It is really nice to finally reunite her with her owners."
