MEMBERS of Malvern Spa Association turned out on a sunny Saturday to decorate a prominent North Malvern water feature to mark All Souls' Day.

The decoration of the historic Clock Tower in North Malvern Road gave local residents the chance to remember their loved ones by writing their names on specially-made card 'leaves' that formed part of the decoration.

Emma Chetwynd Jarvis of the association's well-dressing committee said: "The leaves were inspired by the glorious autumn colours around Malvern and our volunteers cut out the card leaves on which people can inscribe their dedications."

On All Souls’ Day itself, which this year fell on Monday, Emma Goldby, the curate of Holy Trinity Church at Link Top, performed

a blessing ceremony at the clock tower.

The decorations are due to be taken down on Saturday.

The association organises the highly successful well dressing in and around Malvern each spring and in the autumn picks one water feature to be adorned to mark All Souls’ Day.

The Clock Tower was originally built in 1843 on an existing water tank, and increased in height in 1901.
