THE Diocese of Worcester is giving people the chance to have their say on the issue of climate change.

The debate will be looking at where we should put our energies to make a real difference for the future of our planet, and has been organised ahead of the International Climate Change Summit taking place in Paris from November 30.

The debate is being held this Thursday, November 12, at The Old Palace, Deansway, Worcester.

Diocesan mission development officer, Phillip Jones, said: “It’s very clear that greenhouse gas reduction proposals won’t limit climate increase to 2°C.

"Our debate will examine whether we should lobby governments for more and whether 'disinvestment' or 'keep it in the ground' campaigns would pressure governments and influence companies to be transparent and forward-looking.

"We will ask: how can we take responsibility ourselves as citizens, consumers, investors?"

The debate is being run by Talk Shop to ensure it is fun, informative and everyone has the opportunity to have a say.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and can simply turn up on the evening.
