THE WEST End comes to Droitwich next month when famous comic opera The Mikado is streamed live to the town's theatre.

Following a successful screening of The Importance of Being Earnest in October, the Theatre has again decided to show a performance live from London.

The Gilbert and Sullivan opera is to be performed by the English National Opera at the London Coliseum, on Thursday, December 3 at 7.15pm.

Almost 30 years on from its premier, Jonathan Miller’s dazzling inventive staging of The Mikado returns to the London Coliseum.

Multiple HD cameras provide unusual angles and close up views of the action on stage and in the orchestra pit, giving a true cinematic experience for audiences.

The Mikado, which has a 12A certificate and runs for two and-a-half hours, is sung and subtitled in English.

Tickets cost £15 and are available by calling the Friar Street venue’s box office on 01905 770154 or visiting norburytheatre.co.uk
