IT was a case of two cultures merging as members of Malvern's Chinese Community held a Downton Abbey themed day.
Five members of the group visited the stunning Hanbury Hall, near Droitwich, dressed in 1920s clothing and indulged in afternoon tea, so the two cultures could learn about one another.
They studied the artefacts on display at the hall to further indulge in the English culture, and answered questions from fellow visitors about their clothing.
Minnie Walker, of group Malvern's Chinese Community, aid they enjoyed the day and chose the theme of ITV's hit show "Downton Abbey" as it is a huge hit in their native China.
She says more people in the huge country watch the massively popular period drama than in Britain.
Mrs Walker, who lives in Malvern and works at Malvern College, said: "Downton Abbey is very popular in China, and we are all massive fans on the show.
"It was great for us to visit a traditional English house like this, and learn more about the English cultures.
"The two cultures have influenced each other very much over the years- China invented tea, but now it is a really big part of English culture too.
"We wore dresses from the period of 1920s China, so it was a combination of two cultures coming together.
"A lot of people asked us about our dresses, and we told them about the history of the period in China, so it was a really nice event."
The event went ahead on Saturday.
