A former England rugby player – and now Worcester Warriors coach – has visited pupils at a local school to talk about his life in the sport.
Sam Vesty spoke at Abberley Hall School in Great Witley to offer the children there an insight into the world of rugby.
He said: “I really enjoyed speaking about my experiences in the game as a player and a coach and it was good that the boys asked lots of questions and showed a real interest in the topic.”
“I know the school has great facilities and encourages children of all ages to participate in as many activities as possible and the pupils certainly seem very enthusiastic about sport.”
Currently a backs coach for Worcester Warriors Sam helped steer Worcester Cavaliers to the Aviva A League final for the first time in the 2014/15 season while also playing a big role in aiding a young Warriors side to reach the latter stages of the B&I Cup.
He started his playing career with Leicester Tigers, being the four the fourth generation of his family to play for Leicester, and later played for Bath.
He also represented his country at under 18 and under 21 levels and played for the full England side in 2009.
Abberley Hall School director of sport Mark Kennedy said: "It was a very enjoyable evening.
"Sam gave us a really interesting insight into his life as a top professional sportsman and I am sure he inspired our pupils.”
