STARBUCKS has opened up today but while some coffee drinkers are rejoicing, others are banging the drum for independents.
So, in the spirit of equal opportunities, here are the top ten independent coffee shops in Worcester according to review website Tripadvisor today (Tuesday).
Has your favourite made the list? If not, let us know in the comments which cafe you prefer.
1. Chocolate Deli Coffee and Patiserrie

As well known for its coffee as it is for its delicious hot chocolates, cakes and, yes, chocolate.
The two-floor cafe has proved it is top of the pile, on Trip Advisor at least.
2. House of Coffee
104 High Street, Worcester
Found at the top of the High Street near the Cathedral, this is an intimate cafe which offers a good selection of coffees and flavoured coffees.
The creme brulee coffee seems to be a particular favourite among reviewers.
3. Ginger Pig
9 Copenhagen Street, Worcester
Tucked away just off the High Street, Ginger Pig is always a popular choice for not only its coffee but also its food menu.
4. Coffee Warehouse
12 Foregate Street, Worcester
Across the road from Poppins is Coffee Warehouse with one reviewer saying the decor may not be "trendy" but the coffee is spot on.
5. Coffee Dough
28 Chapel Walk, CrownGate, Worcester
A prime people-watching spot, the all-glass structure also has outdoor seating and is found in CrownGate's popular food quarter.
One reviewer said: "The coffee is very good, the staff are very friendly, the shop is in a great position. What more could we ask for?"

A very charming cafe just a short distance from the Cathedral, it is a favourite stop for people walking along the river or those who fancy a quiet stop out of the hustle and bustle of the High Street.
7. The Coffee Spot
Top Barn Farm, Holt Heath
The garden of The Coffee Spot has views stretching across the lake making it a perfect stop in the summer while the warm welcome you receive indoors also makes it a great spot for a coffee in winter too.
