A PIZZA store in Worcester has backed ITV’s Text Santa appeal and is inviting people to join in the goodwill as it plans a pizza party for 100.

The first 100 people to visit the Papa John's store in The Bull Ring, St John's, on Tuesday, December 1, from midday to 5pm will receive a 'free' pizza - a minimum donation of £3 applies.

Money raised will be donated to Text Santa, a campaign that supports Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK and Save the Children.

Jitesh Patel, store manager of Papa John's in Worcester, said: “ITV’s Text Santa is a fantastic appeal that raises awareness about an important issue in a fun and friendly way.

"We’re delighted that we can play a part in this national appeal.

“The team will also be wearing their favourite festive jumpers as part of the appeal’s theme of doing their bit in a Christmas knit.”

Visitors to the takeaway can choose from a 'free' small cheese and tomato or pepperoni pizza and for a donation may receive an ITV Text Santa badge.

The store will also be donating 50p from all XXL pizzas sold during the festive period as the company aims to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Text Santa, which this year stars Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Amanda Holden and Paddy McGuinness, will be broadcast on Friday, December 18.
