CHILDREN have been invited to make lanterns which they can use to join in with The Hive's annual Christmas lantern parade.

Children of all ages can make a willow and tissue lantern or decorate a paper one at two lantern-making workshops from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, November 28 and Saturday, December 5.

The youngsters will then be invited to show them off at the lantern parade at 6pm on Thursday, December 10.

The parade marks the start of The Hive's Christmas weekend with two performances of the Christmas show The Amazing Adventures of Librarian Lil, Christmas singing by Chadsgrove Special School choir and a free Elizabethan Christmas decoration making workshop all taking place on Saturday, December 12.

Laura Worsfold, business development manager said: “The Lantern Parade marks the start of The Hive's Christmas festivities and there is always a lovely atmosphere of excitement.

"The children really enjoy the creative workshops, the parade is magical and our children's show this year, Librarian Lil, looks a lot of fun.

“All children are invited to take part in the parade, not just children who have made lanterns and if they haven't got a lantern they just need to bring a torch or glittery light. The more the merrier.”
