MORE than £250 was raised for Children in Need by children at Harvington First School.

The youngsters raised the money by wearing non-uniform for a donation and bringing in a cuddly toy to share their school day.

In Key Stage Two, fundraising was linked with Economic awareness week, where each class divided themselves into small business teams - with managers, finance leaders as well as pricing and packaging supervisors.

The children took orders from friends and family for jam tarts, which were then baked and packaged within school.

They enjoyed learning about the essential elements of running a successful and profitable business and welcomed the store manager and community link person from Tescos, who shared lots of interesting facts about how their business is run.

The KS2 classes also baked and sold Pudsey bear biscuits to the rest of the school to raise £260.74.
