TWO men and a woman have been found guilty of running a cannabis factory in an outbuilding on a Worcestershire industrial estate.

Police were tipped off to the cannabis production and found 38 plants with a potential value of £10,000 when they raided the premises in Stourport, Worcester Crown Court was told.

Graham Russell, prosecuting, said the large shed on the Sandy Lane estate at Titton had been fitted out with plastic sheeting and hydroponic equipment including lamps and the fingerprints of the three accused had been found in various locations.

Joshua Murphy, aged 30, and his 26-year-old partner Aissha Keenan lived nearby in a caravan at Gables Yard, Power Station Road, Mr Russell told a jury.

The outbuilding was adjacent to a bungalow owned by Murphy's grandmother and he said he used it to keep his Yamaha motorcycle in.

Both claimed that the shed would fill up with junk and they would have to remove it and tidy up occasionally which explained their fingerprints being found on plastic sheeting and other items.

Co-accused Gary Richards, a 52-year-old lorry driver, of Irving Close, Dudley, told the court he lived 40 miles away and had no reason to involve himself in cannabis production.

He claimed his fingerprints were found there because he had visited several times to buy a motorbike and a Chihuaha puppy Keenan had been selling.

He said the shed was a mess and he had probably moved the sheeting to look at the bike.

All three pleaded not guilty to a charge of producing cannabis between April and August 2013 but were found guilty by a jury.

Pre-sentence reports were ordered and all three are set to return to court for sentencing on December 22.
