A FATHER has spoken of his despair after £155 of Christmas presents meant for his son went missing – after being delivered to a neighbour’s house.

Finding no one at home, a courier delivering the gifts on behalf of Amazon, knocked on a neighbour’s house and left them there.

However, Duncan Fulker was shocked to find that despite the parcel containing Playstation games, Skylanders figures, a book and aftershave, only the book was later delivered to his home.

The whole episode has been captured on CCTV.

The film clearly shows the courier attempting to a large box and large envelope to the house in Linden Road, Tolladine, but handing it over to someone in a neighbouring house when he gets no reply.

A man, who does not live at the house and is not known to the person who lives there, leaves the neighbouring house and can be seen posting the envelope containing the book to the correct address but not the box containing Playstation games, Skylanders figures and aftershave.

Duncan and Angela Fulker said they never received the box and have released CCTV footage in the hopes of catching whoever's responsible for taking the presents on Tuesday.

Mr Fulker said he could not believe someone could stoop so low at this time of year and steal £155 worth of presents meant for his 12-year-old son Toby.

Initially, a 101 police call handler told the family it was a civil and not a criminal matter but officers have now confirmed they will be investigating the theft after they were contacted by the Worcester News.

The 40-year-old said: "I had only been made aware on Friday because I was on business in Miami and when I flew back my wife said I'd had a notification that Amazon had tried to deliver a parcel and left it with a neighbour.

"The lady who lived there said she hadn't been given any parcels which I thought was a little bit strange so I got the CCTV and found it shows the delivery driver coming down the pathway with a large box and A4 envelope.

"He knocks the door, we're not in so he goes to our neighbour's door then two or three minutes later you see this guy deliver the packet but not the box.

"To say we are a little upset is an understatement.

"I'm not going to let it spoil Christmas but I think it is disgusting that someone could do this knowing they were Christmas presents.

"They're computer games though and unopened so will be easy to sell on. I don't think we'll get them back."

He has spoken to Amazon who, he said, told him they would replace the items but would not be able to deliver some of the presents in time for Christmas.

Your Worcester News attempted to contact the neighbour but there was no response at the home address.

A Facebook post by Mr Fulker including a still from the film footage has been shared hundreds of times in the hopes of tracing the thief.

Superintendent Kevin Purcell said: "We have reviewed this incident and we should have dealt with it by recording a crime from Mr Fulker and investigating it in full.

"We have made a mistake in the advice we have given.

"We are considering with colleagues whom it was reported to by telephone why this did not happen."

Anyone with information should contact the non-emergency police number 101 to be passed to Sergeant Gibbs.
