A GENEROUS Weight Watchers member celebrated dropping a tremendous 45 pounds in four months by donating Christmas gifts to her group.

Sarah Miller, who attends Weight Watchers meetings at Lyppards Hub, presented the items as thanks to the group for helping her to achieve her goal by Christmas.

The team decided to turn her donation into raffle prizes and raised £65 for Maggs Day Centre, which helps the homeless in Worcester.

Dawn Cooper, leader of the Lyppards Hub group which meets on Mondays at 12.30pm, said: "This time of year it can be even harder for the homeless. I thought it would a great idea to hold a raffle of the donated products in my meetings to help raise money for The Maggs Day Centre."

She continued to thank her members for their generosity in raising money for the centre, and added that across her groups slimmers have lost a total of 240 stones in 2015.

Over the Christmas period two meetings will run at Claines Scout Hut, in Cornmeadow lane, Claines, on Tuesday, December 29 at 10am and St John's Sports Centre on Wednesday, December 30 at 5.30pm.

To kick off the New Year, a Weight Watchers group will run on Saturday, January 2 at the Masonic Hall in Rainbow Hill, Worcester.
