WORCESTER'S missing millionaire has stepped forward to claim their prize.

The news that someone in Worcester had failed to claim the Lotto Millionaire Raffle prize from the Saturday, October 10 draw caused a stir in the city as people rushed to double check their tickets.

Camelot, operator of The National Lottery, announced today that the £1,000,000 raffle prize has now been claimed.

Unless the winner of a major National Lottery prize opts to take full publicity and signs an agreement to that effect, no further information can be released about their win.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win.

"It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money.

"We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play.”

Every week Lotto Millionaire Raffle guarantees to create two millionaires – one on Wednesday and one on Saturday – but the special Lotto draw on October 10, 2015, saw 25 millionaires created in one night.

The winner, who bought their ticket in City of Worcester, becomes the twenty-second millionaire to have claimed their prize from the special draw.

There were fears that the winner may have checked their ticket on the National Lottery website where dummy numbers appeared for 45 minutes after the draw.

The search is still on to find the remaining £1m Lotto Millionaire Raffle prizes bought in the Borough of Tameside, District of Huntingdonshire and City of Leeds.

The deadline to claim the prizes is April 7, 2016.
