WORCESTERSHIRE residents are being encouraged to get involved in a charity fundraiser inspired by the popular children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Charity Action for Children has joined forces with The World of Eric Carle to launch the campaign to get the county's children’s centres, nurseries and groups for under-fives to host a Giant Wiggle event.
The sponsored events will see youngsters form a giant caterpillar conga line and take part in creative storytelling, arts, crafts, nature trails and healthy eating – all aspects of the much-loved children’s book.
Events will be held during the week of March 21 to March 27.
Action for Children’s Ruth Sorby said: “We want to celebrate The Very Hungry Caterpillar by encouraging children to get active and have fun.
“The money raised by your Giant Wiggle will help us to support disadvantaged children, young people and families in the heart of communities in Worcestershire, and across the UK.”
Since the event first launched in 2014, more than £150,000 has been raised for the charity.
