IT hasn't always been the happiest of homes for Worcester City FC, but a visit from Worcestershire beauties lifted the spirits at Aggborough Stadium.

Miss Worcestershire Laura Beth Morgan and Mr Worcestershire Dan Evans, along with the Miss Worcestershire finalists, proved to the winning inspiration for the city players and helped lift any gloom currently surrounding the team as their search for a permanent home continues.

They met with players before kick-off, waved to the fans and took up the opportunity to carry out a photo shoot while they were there too.

When it was time to kick the game off, Miss Worcestershire led out her native Worcester City FC onto the pitch, while Miss Black Country, Jade Secker, led out the opposing North Ferriby United players onto the pitch.

Gary Phillips, Worcestershire's current World Powerlifting Champion, organised the event and said it was great fun for everybody involved.

"It was a really great day, and a lot of fun for everybody.

"The crowd were cheering and waving to the girls, who were waving back, so they enjoyed it too. “

The team needed a lift really, so it was nice to do.

"The girls watched the game from a box in the stands, and I reckon that helped the lads play a bit better because maybe they wanted to impress them.

"But really, it was a great day and it's good that it helped City get a win” he said.

Worcester City went onto the win the match 2-0.

Laura Beth Morgan tweeted: "Loved today with the Miss Worcestershire Finalists.

“Thank you everyone."
