INVESTIGATIONS are still ongoing into an unprovoked attack on a homeless man who was kicked in the head.

Police are still looking a man who was caught on CCTV approaching the rough sleeper in The Trinity, Worcester outside O'Neill's at 3.15am on Friday, November 6.

Police did arrest a man then released him without charge in January but, despite widespread coverage of the attack, there have been no arrests since.

Officers said they are continuing their investigations and have asked for anyone who believes they recognise the men to call the non-emergency police number on 101.

Police released shocking CCTV footage showing the moment the homeless man was stamped on during the unprovoked attack.

Two men can be seen leaving Bushwackers talking when one, seemingly without provocation, takes a run up, jumps in the air and stamps on the man sitting outside O'Neill's.

He then swaggers off while his friend looks like he is speaking to the man.

Officers called the attack "despicable" and it has also been widely condemned by homeless campaigners.

Fortunately, the victim did not sustain serious injuries but was left shaken from the incident.

PC Catherine Broadfield said: "This was an unprovoked and violent attack against a vulnerable man.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who may recognise the men in the images. Please contact police.

"This was a despicable act and behaviour like this will not be tolerated."

Police would like to speak to the men in the images to assist with their enquiries.

If you recognise either of the men or have any information about the assault, please call police on 101, quoting incident 529S of 6 November 2015.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via their website.
