AFTER 45 years in the property profession, the last 28 in Malvern, well-known estate agent Mark Ball has decided it is time for a change.

Mr Ball started his career as a trainee in a north Birmingham practice, dealing with sales, letting and management. He then worked in the Black Country before returning to Birmingham in various managerial roles.

A move to Shropshire heralded a change from bright lights of the city back to the market towns of the West Midlands before joining a leading Independent Worcestershire firm in the late 80s as their Malvern manager.

Having fallen for the charms of this beautiful and historic area, he decided o set up his own business, originally from a first-floor office which was once used by Sir Edward Elgar for music lessons.

However, within six months he moved to one of the town centre's largest offices, enjoying a prominent position on the corner of Church Street and Graham Road.

Mr Ball was chairman of the Birmingham and West Mercia branch of the National Association of Estate agents and a co-founder and first chairman of the Hereford and Worcester branch.

He said: "Having been in the business for 45 years, I think it's time to hand over the baton to a younger generation. I will still be carrying out consultancy work. but this will allow me time to pursue several passions including a love of classic cars. I would like to thank past clients for their business and support over the last 28 years."
