SCHOOL teams will compete in a series of back-to-back robot challenges at an Evesham school.
Middle and High School VEX Robotics students will come to The De Montfort School for the tournament called Nothing But Net on Thursday, February 25.
The teams will drive robots they designed, built and programmed using robotics program, VEX EDR.
They must score coloured balls in high and low goals by elevating their robots in a designated climbing zone.
Aaron Williams of The De Montfort School, said: "The robots that students build and the competitions that they compete in are inspirational.
"The time and effort that they put into building each robot is phenomenal.β
βIt engages hands-on learning experiences and instils a passion for science and technology.
"Some of our students have gone on to study engineering as a result of their involvement in the robotics club.β
The Worcestershire regional event is one of a series of robotics competitions organised by VEX Robotics, Inc. and the Robotics Education and Competition (REC) Foundation.
These aim to help students develop skills such as teamwork, leadership and project management through science, technology, engineering and maths.
